MOŚCICE ART CENTER

Mościce Art Centre in Tarnów, a cultural institution of the Krakow Province, is a place where art wins with commercialism, and where the available space is utilized to the full for realization of original and ambitious programmes. We confront with one another, and with our audiences, artists from home and abroad, exploring various fields – music, theatre, film, dance, painting, sculpture, and photography.

We present phenomena created with the use of new technologies and digital arts. Every year, over 110 000 people take part in the artistic events, meetings, and international festivals we organise.

The most important ones include International Dance Theatres Festival OPEN STAGE, ArtFest, the summer festival of chamber music Muzyczne Tarasy (Music Terraces) and the festival Musica Poetica, as well as the projects Scena Klasyczna (Classical Stage), Małopolskie Wieczory Teatralne (Małopolska Theatre Evenings), Spis Treści Poufnych (Confidential Contents), and Za horyzont domu [Beyond the Horizon of Home]. We are home to the Mościce Art Centre Symphonic Orchestra, which brings together talented Polish musicians. Art is the essence of our work. We do not shy away from technology, we use it at work, but we know the authentic meeting of the artist and the audience is still the most important thing.
